Running the Deschutes River Trail

I finally feel 100% healthy after my nasty Feb/March sinus infection.  Winter has been very mild in the Northwest this year and many winter trails are displaying spring conditions!  (I'll happily let my sister in Dallas get all the snow.)

I spent a few days in Bend, OR over the weekend.  Sadie and I ran 21 miles (10.5 out and back) on the beautiful Deschutes River Trail.  Enjoy some photos:

  11. Hello Scott - just catching up on your blog. So many things to catch up on - glad you are feeling better and the pics are great, as usual.
Congrats on the recent 5k - awesome time and 3rd place. (apparently from you 5k report I never push hard enough in a 5k, hmmm??? - not sure I can push hard enough to feel like my lungs are coming out of my throat, but I will ponder that:)
And the Austin report -running with your sisters - that is so neat - wish I had family to get involved - they think I'm crazy. Glad your Dad is on the road to recovery (I have a lot of family heart & blood pressure, etc. issues on both sides, which is another reason why I run) I was amused by your course analysis - in 2007 when I ran Austin it was the hilliest course I had ever run. Since then I have run a LOT more hills, so I need to run that one again to see if my viewpoint has changed - I think it would. I loved that marathon especially the capitol part. Huge congrats to Melanie - that's a GREAT PR. Loved the finisher smiles pic. Looking forward to reading about your training and upcoming races.
